AirBnB’s are really making a splash in tourism. Carla Gomez has earned 5 stars and many wonderful compliments on her tipi and cabin accommodations. We are looking forward to more AirBnB’s in and near Mora. We have so much beauty to share with folks around the world that respect and appreciate our environment and sense of community.
The space: While a tipi does not have the indoor conveniences you might find in a hotel, we have adequate restroom facilities (outhouses)
Guest access: The Tipi is set in a beautiful meadow overlooking the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The retreat center is located on a 330 acre ranch. Horses are available for rides at an extra cost and you will be able to hike around the property and enjoy the solitude and beauty of nature. We have a small sustainable farm and sell our grass fed AWA meats.
Interaction with guests: We will be available to help you with any of your needs, firewood will be provided as well as cooking utensils. All cooking is done on an open fire or a grill. As an expert in Campfire cooking I would be happy to teach the art of dutch oven cooking. If you are interested in a guided horse back ride we can make this available to you.
The neighborhood: The only neighbors you have besides the few of us living on the ranch are the birds and the squirrels. Sometimes a deer or an elk might be seen grazing in the meadows in the early morning or evening.
Getting around:The ranch is located in an isolated area. My subaru runs up and down our drive on a regular basis, but the road is rough. If need be we can shuttle you to the area.

Carla is a sweet and wonderful host and stayed in constant communication with us to make sure that we made it in okay and enjoyed our stay. We got in after dark but when we woke up we had the most breathtaking view of the mountains and the secluded location made it so peaceful and perfect. We made a cozy fire in the fire pit and star gazed all evening and explored the surrounding woods in the morning. If you are looking for an amazing nature location with a delightful host, Carla’s is the place. ~January 2017 ·
We first made a reservation for the teepee, which sounded so cool and interesting but unfortunatly, Carla explained that the weather was very unpredictable and wind gust might be a problem. Carla said she had a cabin that just recently was finished and we could stay there for no extra charge. Well, that cabin is amazing! Beautiful inside and out! The views alone are worth a million bucks! Wonderful wood burning stove and kitchenette with working stove top. Sink, but no running water. Don’t worry! She provides all the water you need. Loft style queen size bed for snuggling in after a long day hiking her property. The hospitality that Carla showed us was amazing. She had a fire already going for us inside, so the cabin was nice and cozy when we arrived. Called us several times on our way down just to make sure we were finding our way. We cannot wait to go back! ~January 2017
